Addison Thornton
Addison Thornton is a freshman at SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry, majoring in Environmental Studies with a plan to minor in Recreation Resource and Protected Area Management.
Addison is actively involved in AXS, an honors society focused on community service, and SEEC (Student Environmental Education Coalition), a club dedicated to youth outreach, where she will serve as treasurer next semester. She also works as a public speaking tutor in the PSL lab, helping fellow students with speech writing, organization and overcoming anxiety. In the upcoming semester, she will take on the role of Orientation Leader, helping incoming freshmen adjust to campus life.
Outside of school, Addison participates in numerous volunteer opportunities around the Syracuse area. She volunteers weekly at the local YWCA, assisting in science-based lessons and activities. In March, she went to Albany to participate in TREEage, which is a youth organization centered around fighting for climate justice. Addison plans to use her education to work for a State Park after she graduates.
