CRCF to host community forum in Portville

Fri, Nov 6th 2026 02:00 pm

The Cattaraugus Region Community Foundation is inviting residents of the Town and Village of Portville to take part in a Community Voice Forum on Wednesday, November 18. The event will be held at Portville Central School in the John Dubots Room.

The free, public forum will provide an opportunity for community members to learn about key issues affecting Cattaraugus County, share their perspectives and help identify the challenges most important to their communities.

As part of CRCF’s ongoing community leadership and data discovery work, the Foundation team will present county-level data highlighting needs on issues such as housing, childhood poverty, economic development, recreation and other areas affecting the region.

Led by Christian Riethmiller, Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation Data and Learning Fellow, and CRCF Executive Director Kirk Windus, along with other Foundation staff, the forum will encourage participants to explore the data, discuss their reactions and share additional concerns or observations.

Through facilitated conversations, attendees will have an opportunity to identify which issues they believe are most pressing and discuss what it would take to address them. The goal is to create space for residents to help shape a better understanding of community needs and inform future efforts to strengthen the region.

“Community members are the ones who experience these challenges firsthand, and their perspectives are an important understanding of what our region needs,” said Riethmiller. “This forum is an opportunity to bring people together, look at the data and hear directly from residents about the issues that matter most to them.”

The Community Voice Forum is free and open to all residents of the Town and Village of Portville. Food and drinks will be provided. Attendees will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a $50 Greater Olean Area Chamber of Commerce gift card or a $25 The Scoop Ice Cream gift card.
