The Cattaraugus County Nonprofit Hub, a countywide initiative dedicated to strengthening collaboration, capacity and impact within the nonprofit sector, announced that the next convening will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, November 17 at Jamestown Community College in Olean.

Launched in October 2024, the Nonprofit Hub serves as a vital platform for nonprofit organizations to connect and learn from one another. Powered by the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation, the Nonprofit Hub is supported by key partners including CRCF, the United Way of Cattaraugus & Allegany Counties and the Dr. Lyle F. Renodin Foundation.

Presenting during this session will be Annie Brown Kurowski, Vice President in the nonprofit practice at McAllister & Quinn, and Nora Westbrook, Senior Program Manager of Center on Rural Innovation (CORI).

Kurowski oversees a diverse portfolio of clients including national nonprofits, associations, municipalities, higher education institutions, and private corporations. She brings more than 15 years of experience in securing millions in federal, state, county and foundation grants across the behavioral health, education, social services, justice, workforce development and research sectors. She specializes in long term strategic planning, project design, grant development and management to support clients’ mission, vision, and budget priorities. Her expertise is shared and recognized annually at national association and professional conferences.

Kurowski will discuss topics such as earmarks in the context of the midterm election results, grant pursuit readiness and more. McAllister & Quinn will be a lead partner with CRCF on a new Foundation initiative designed to help nonprofits and municipalities secure more state, federal and private philanthropic funding.

As Senior Program Manager of Community Growth at the Center on Rural Innovation, Westbrook works with rural communities across the country to design strategies that strengthen local innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystems. She leads the growth of the Rural Innovation Network and works to deepen the experience of Center on Rural Innovation’s network partners, advancing more equitable access to economic opportunity regardless of geography.

Westbrook will present on funding disparities in rural communities, including data from CORI’s latest report, “Uneven Ground.”

The meeting will be held in LLAC 308 at JCC. Registrants will receive a campus map leading up to the event. Lunch will be served.
