Four Salamanca High School graduates recently received scholarships from funds managed by the Cattaraugus Region Community Foundation.

Anne Marie Rozler received the Ann Liederbach Memorial Scholarship for $1,500.

Established in memory of Ann Liederbach by her daughter, Marilee Patterer, the fund supports annual scholarship awards for students from Salamanca High School who are intending to or are currently pursuing a degree in elementary education. Preference will be for a student already enrolled in a bachelor- or graduate-level college program, but graduating seniors of Salamanca High School are also eligible to apply. Second preference would be for a student pursuing a degree in secondary education.

Rozler plans to attend St. Bonaventure University to study adolescent education.

Norah Clayson received the James and Valerie Brundage Scholarship for $1,000.

The Brundage Scholarship was established by Jim’s late wife, Valerie, with the assistance of their family as a way to continue his legacy of supporting the Salamanca City School District.

The scholarship is for a graduating senior of the Salamanca City School District planning to attend a 4-year institution. Applicants should be hard-working, demonstrate academic excellence (a minimum GPA of 90%), be involved in community service and extracurricular activities and should demonstrate financial need. Preference will be for student pursuing a degree in engineering (first preference) or other STEM-related fields of study (second preference).

Clayson plans to attend Finger Lakes Community College to study psychology.

Jacob Herrick and Jesse Hill received the St. Mary’s Episcopal Church Legacy Scholarship for $2,000.

One of the scholarships from this fund is for a graduating senior of Salamanca, while the second scholarship will be for a current college student, either undergraduate or graduate (first preference), or a current graduating senior (second preference) of Salamanca High School. Recipients must be attending a 2- or 4-year school or graduate school.

Herrick is currently studying physical education at St. Bonaventure University. Hill plans to attend Daemen University to study physical therapy.
