Invenergy, North America’s largest privately-held developer, owner and operator of clean, reliable and affordable energy solutions, has made a $5,000 charitable contribution to the Community Fund at the Cattaraugus Region Community Foundation, aimed at supporting projects and charitable programming that enhance the lives of residents in communities within the footprint of the Alle-Catt Energy Center.
The donation will directly benefit nonprofit organizations and community initiatives in the Alle-Catt host communities of Farmersville, Freedom and Yorkshire.
These funds will be awarded through the Foundation’s Community Fund, CRCF’s primary vehicle for responding to emerging community needs. The Fund supports projects across a wide range of focus areas including education, health and wellness, community development, youth services and more.
“Thank you to Invenergy for recognizing the importance of localized, responsive philanthropy,” said Kirk Windus, CRCF executive director. “This investment in the Community Fund will empower nonprofits in these communities to address pressing needs and seize new opportunities for growth and resilience.”
The gift also underscores CRCF’s strategic commitment to growing the Community Fund as a flexible, responsive source of support for the county’s residents.
“For businesses, and even individuals, that want to give back to the community, the Community Fund at CRCF can be a perfect vehicle for their giving,” added Windus. “At the Community Foundation, our experienced board and staff focus on impactful grantmaking, enabling businesses to support the community without the need to research charities or programs.”
“Invenergy has a decades-long history investing in the communities of New York, and this contribution is an example of our commitment to the local communities in which we live and work,” says Varun Praveen, Senior Project Manager for Alle-Catt Wind. “Through CRCF and the Community Fund, we know these funds can be used where it is needed most to support Alle-Catt Wind’s neighbors.”
Invenergy’s gift will be deployed within one calendar year or through the two standard CRCF grant cycles following the donation. Currently, the Community Fund provides about $30,000 per year between the two cycles.
