Ten area grads receive Dresser-Rand Employees Scholarship

Ten recent area graduates received awards from the Dresser-Rand Employees Scholarship fund, together totaling $15,500.

The Dresser-Rand Employees Trust Association established the scholarship fund at CRCF in 2021 to help continue their longstanding scholarship program for current and former employees of Dresser-Rand/Siemens Energy.

The Dresser-Rand Employees Scholarship is open to the children of employees of Dresser-Rand/Siemens Energy, regardless of high school. Employees must have been Olean-based employees as of February 2, 2022, with at least 12 months of service.

From Olean High School, Emma Edwards received a $2,500 award.

Portville Central School’s Maliegha Burgess and Braedon Carter each received $500.

From Allegany-Limestone Central School, Ipshita Patra received $5,000 and Vincent Amore received $1,000.

Breanna Gentzel of Austin (PA) Central School received $2,500.

Lilah Cudney of Franklinville Central School received $1,000.

Otto-Eldred Central School’s Cosette Sowers received $1,000.

Wellsville Central School’s Averee Palmatier received $1,000.

Emily Pierce of Bolivar Richburg Central School received $500.

Edwards plans to attend Tarleton State University at Stephenville to study psychology.

Burgess plans to study veterinary technology at Alfred State College. Carter will also attend Alfred State College to study nursing.

Patra plans to study biological sciences at Cornell University. Amore plans to study business at St. Bonaventure University.

Gentzel plans to attend Pennsylvania State University – Behrend to study nursing.

Cudney plans to study sports management at SUNY Canton.

Sowers plans to study wildlife and fishery sciences at Pennsylvania State University – DuBois.

Palmatier plans to attend Alfred University to study early childhood education.

Pierce plans to study graphic design at Alfred State College.
