CRCF to hold anniversary trivia contest and grant giveaway on Facebook

Thu, Aug 22nd 2019 10:00 am

Starting September 1, the Cattaraugus Region Community Foundation will hold a 25-day trivia contest on its Facebook page, with the daily winners receiving a $100 grant for a nonprofit in Cattaraugus County or CRCF Fund of the winner’s choice.

The contest celebrates CRCF’s date of establishment as a nonprofit, which came in the month of September 25 years ago.

Each day, a trivia question will be posted on the CRCF Facebook page, facebook.com/cattfoundation, relating to the Foundation’s history or its daily work in the community.

Individuals will submit their entries by commenting on the trivia question post with an answer and the nonprofit or CRCF fund he or she would like to receive the prize of a $100 grant.

Organizations will only be eligible to receive two grants during the 25-day period.

“We had been thinking about another way to celebrate this milestone of 25 years of Growing Good in the community, and this seemed like a fun and engaging way to do it,” said CRCF Executive Director Karen Niemic Buchheit. “It gets to the heart of what we do – make the community a better place by supporting our nonprofits and the philanthropic wishes of our generous community.”

Answers to the questions can be found on the Foundation’s website, cattfoundation.org, and the 2018 Annual Report, which is available to view on the website, said Buchheit.

“We are excited to celebrate our anniversary in this way, and we know the community will get excited about the opportunity to try to win for the nonprofits that they love,” Buchheit said.
