CRCF to offer small-group workshops to prepare for Cattaraugus Gives

Thu, Sep 4th 2025 03:00 pm

The Cattaraugus Region Community Foundation will be offering a new approach to its Cattaraugus Gives training this fall, providing nonprofit professionals and volunteers with the opportunity to participate in small-group workshops designed for more individualized, hands-on training.

Led by CRCF, Cattaraugus Gives is a 24-hour online fundraising event joining nonprofits from across the Cattaraugus County community both in competition and collaboration. Since 2019, over $1.5 million has been raised to support area nonprofits through the giving day.

Last year, 91 participating nonprofit organizations raised over $330,000.

Rather than hosting a traditional Link and Learn Seminar, CRCF will hold a series of smaller workshops led by Tyler Veno, CRCF communications and fund development manager and Cattaraugus Gives coordinator. The workshops will focus on helping nonprofits prepare for this year’s Cattaraugus Gives day of giving on Tuesday, December 2.

The sessions will provide participants with focused training on key fundraising strategies, marketing best practices and tools to maximize their organization’s impact during Cattaraugus Gives. With smaller groups, attendees will have more opportunities for one-on-one support, practical exercises and tailored guidance specific to their organization’s needs.

Veno, a Portville native and graduate of St. Bonaventure University, is gearing up for his second year spearheading the fundraising initiative.

“Cattaraugus Gives has grown into a powerful day of giving for our region,” said Veno. “By shifting to this format, we will be able to provide a more personalized experience that equips nonprofits not just with knowledge, but with the practical skills they need to succeed leading up to their giving day.”

These sessions, which are limited to five attendees, will take place on Thursdays throughout the month of October.
